Christmas gifts and decorations

I love to make gifts and decorations before Christmas. The best of all is to make decorations together with my kids. Since December 1999 we have made gifts and decorations together with my friend in the house next door and her two kids every year. The first year her kids were 4 ½ and 6 years old. Mine were 8 ½ and 5 years old. 

In 1999 we made decorations of wood. You can see two picture of my kids making their decorations :

We also made these Santas (we call them "nisser") :
The three pictures on the left shows some of the things we made in 2000. They are made with a technique we call "decoupage". You use a motive from a paper serviette or some other thin paper to decorate things you have painted. You use a special glum and you can paint on the motives afterwards if you want to.

On the first picture you can see a little tray which I've decorated.

The second picture shows a little tray which Anders has decorated.

Ida has decorated the little box on the third picture.

I've also made this Advent Calendar. I move the little girl up on the ladder every day from 1st to 24th December. I love my little calendar very much.

It's not easy to describe in English how you can make it. You just have to look at the Advent Calendar and try to see how it's made :o)

This decoration is made by me.

I've made the gnomes and their clothes. I've bought the gnomes faces,  their shooes and the kitchentools, they are not made by me. Also the mushrooms is bought but the rest of the decoration is made of things I've found in the forest.

Even in 2001 we were together with our neighbours and made Christmas-presents one day in December. We made pictures of wool. Anders made the one to the right and Ida made the lower one to the left. The third one is made of Ida some years ago when she was in kindergarten. 

This small decoration is made by me. I bought the mushrooms. The other things is from the nature. 

I've decorated a wreath I've bought. Here you can find the same mushrooms and the same things from the nature. I've used both cinnamon and ginger. 

We like to make gifts and decorations of things I find in the nature. We often finds cones, moss and other things in the nature. We use to make gifts to my childrens grandparents. Both them and I love to recieve home-made gifts :o) 

We have made a lot of gifts and decorations but I don't have pictures of them. I will take pictures when I decorate my house in December and put them on this page later.
