The ABC's of Spring

Animals wake from a long winter's rest
Birds start preparing a warm, cozy nest
Colorful buds peep from the ground
Daffodils, tulips, and violets abound
Everything shouts, "I'm green, I'm alive!"
Forsythia and hyacinths are first to arrive
Gardens are tilled, then carefully seeded
Hoes and rakes are tools that are needed
Ice has all melted, the earth's cool and wet
Jackets are tossed, as warmer it gets

Kids get Spring fever, they yearn to go out
"Let us play longer!" they frequently shout!
March kites are soaring up in the sky
New life has come where once plants did die
Outdoors is the place to find me and you
Picnics and cookouts are fun to have, too
Quickly the days all begin to grow longer
Running and playing, our bodies grow stronger
Sunshine will follow the soft April showers

Together, they nurture our beautiful flowers
Under the sky appear signs of rebirth:
Vast fields of green start to cover the earth
Wind in our hair, oh, how it blows!
X-pressing, it's Springtime from our heads to our toes
You ask of the Springtime: "oh, please, won't you stay?"
Zoom, Spring is gone - Summer's on the way!
